International Athletes to Watch at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games

The story

This was CBC Sports’ big feature for the opening ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. The goal was to introduce Canadians to the world’s best athletes before the competition even started.

I gave each athlete a clear, simple hook, so viewers had someone to follow, or root against, for the rest of the Games. As Lead Producer, I ran the creative from picking the stories through to the final cut, and I voiced the piece too.

It aired live as a simulcast on CBC, TSN and Sportsnet to a record national audience of more than 13 million viewers.
